Brooke Hawkinson, Primary Assistant Teacher and After Care Coordinator

Brooke has more than a decade of experience working with children, especially through her connection with her foster siblings. She loves living in Humboldt Park. When she is not at HPM, Brooke enjoys trying diverse foods, dancing with her friends, and dog sitting with her partner.


Caitlyn Solomon, Primary Lead Teacher

Caitlyn is an AMS certified Montessori teacher who received her B.S. in Montessori and Early Childhood Education from Xavier University. She is currently attending the University of Illinois where she is working on her Masters in Diversity and Equity in Education. When Caitlyn is not at HPM she is spending time with her family, swimming, and reading.


Emilla Parr, Elementary Assistant Teacher

Emilla holds a B.A. Double Major in Stage Management and Theater Performance from Western Michigan University. She is making plans to start her AMI Teacher Training in Elementary in summer 2020. With a diverse background in handwork, carpentry, music, acting, nature, comparative religions, world travel, and animal care, she brings many skills and eclectic activities to her teaching.


Jess Northup, Primary Assistant Teacher

Jess holds a B.A. and has been an educator for 18 years. During that time he has worked with seniors to preschoolers, teaching ESL, music, Spanish, and general education. In addition to being part of the team at HPM, Jess is a musician, ESL teacher, and a tutor for various teachers’ licensing exams.


Kristen Ediger, Executive Director

Kristen has been working with children for 15 years, and seeing Humboldt Park Montessori come to being is her dream come true. Kristen is finishing her AMS certification Montessori Administration. On the weekends, Kristen loves spending time with her partner, Brad, and their three children, going outdoors as much as possible and reading good books.

Sean Kelly, Elementary Lead Teacher

Sean received his AMI diploma from the Montessori Institute of Milwaukee and his Masters in Montessori Education from Loyola University of Maryland. He holds bachelors degrees in music and in theatre from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Sean is a husband and a father and a storyteller and a theatre maker.
